Is there internet access?

Yes, the hostel offers free wi-fi if you have your own computer.  If you need to use ours, we have computer available to surf the internet for $1/20 minutes.  Sorry there isn’t printing available unless it is an important travel document like a boarding pass.

What should I bring?

We recommend that you consider bringing the  following: -Not too much luggage (backpacks are much better) -Combo lock -Headlamp (for late night reading and bathroom breaks) -travel clock -toiletries (like toothpaste, toothbrush, floss, deodorant, shampoo, soap, etc..) -towel -an open mind -flexible travel plans (if possible) -passport/photo id -Hostelling International Card -Ipod -Laptop (you could [...]

Is there an age limit to stay at the hostel?

No, not at any HI-USA hostel.  Our organizational name (HI-USA) changed from YHA (Youth Hostels of America)  to better reflect the diversity of people that decide to stay with us. Do I need to rent a car to visit Portland?

We strongly encourage guests that are only interested in visiting Portland to consider not renting a car because we have such a good public transportation system.  It is easy to get to the hostel from the airport, bus and train stations. Does the hostel have a washer and dryer?

The hostel does have a washer and dryer.  It is only available to guest after 6pm and before 9am daily because we have to wash hostel linens.  There is also a laundry mat almost directly across the street from the hostel.

Is there parking available?

Yes, street parking is free and easy and doesn’t require permits.  We strongly recommend that you consider not renting a car because Portland has such an excellent public transportation system and you can pretty much get almost anywhere in the metro area.

Do you have lockers/bike Storage?
