‘Do What The Locals Do’

The great thing about summer in a city that is blessed with continuous days of sunshine, is all the free events happening on those fabulous summer days and nights. Here are a few ideas to help you plan your evening, week, or month!

Movies in the Park: Get in on the 10th season! Since 2007, crowds have gathered in parks to experience cinematic magic in an outdoor setting. What better and affordable way to enjoy a pleasant summer evening? Check out this year’s schedule here: https://www.portlandoregon.gov/parks/69554

Concerts in the Park: Okay, so anything happening for free in a park is pretty great. Same deal, only music! The Rose City’s best and brightest – from classical to country, rock & roll to rhythm & blues – have been entrancing audiences in parks since 1901.Check out the schedule here: https://www.portlandoregon.gov/parks/69555

The Noon Tunes Summer Concert Series:  Can’t make a concert in the park, try to catch one during the day at Pioneer Square downtown: https://thesquarepdx.org/noon-tunes/

Street Festivals: Whether it’s a craft fair, beer festival, or neighborhood block party, there’s always something going on…like the Puckerfest, Willamette River Festival, Three Days of Aloha, Lents Street Fair, Abbey Bach Festival, Division/Clinton Street FairInternational Pinot Noir Celebration, or the Renegade Craft Fair all happening in July. There’s lots more for August and beyond! Check out this great website to get a look into all the good stuff happening this summer. Enjoy! http://www.events12.com/portland/august/
