Village Building Convergence (VBC)

City Repair is gearing up for it’s annual Village Building Convergence and hands-on-action taking place at more than 35 sites around Portland! Beginning June 3 through June 12 people of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels will come together to create natural building structures (like the cob bench on the hostel property!), practice permaculture, and facilitate public art projects. Sites may be creating benches, community kiosks, gardens, street paintings, tile mosaics, and more! There will also be workshops on natural building, sustainable urban design, permaculture, community, and creating social capital. People come from near and far to learn skills and help bring designs to life, while celebrating creativity and diversity! During the evenings, participants will join together at at a central venue for a night of wholesome food, presentations by leaders in the forefront of positive change, and exhilarating musical performances from local bands and DJ’s.
