Travel Workshops

World Travel 101 Workshops

WT 101 workshops are geared towards the first-time traveler planning a trip abroad. Whether you are planning an adventure trip to the Serengeti plains, a group study tour to the Mayan ruins, or an exotic honeymoon to Phuket, this workshop will help you maximize your time and minimize frustrations. You will be given tools and tips on everything from budgeting, packing, finding accommodations, managing health concerns, rail transportation, language barriers, getting the most out of your trip and more.

Women Travelling Solo

Traveling alone as a woman can be a powerful, emboldening growth experience. However, safety is always a consideration and some prep work before you go will help you make the most out of your journey. This workshop is conducted by veteran solo female travelers and is a wonderful way to connect with other like-minded women. You will learn special tips on traveling alone, safely and enjoyably. Resources on budgeting, accommodations, safety, language and cultural customs will be covered.

Our workshops are  FREE. You can attend these workshops at some of local outdoor stores such as R.E.I. and universities such as University of Portland and Portland State University. Check our Events Calendar for our workshop schedule.

If you want to lead this workshop or want to schedule a workshop at your school, club, or organization, please contact us at the hostel. (503) 236-3380 or at hip@portlandhost.org

Thanks!
