What is a Hostel?

Hostels are low-cost, budget accommodations that may either have shared rooms such as dormitories with bunk beds or a few private rooms.  The dormitories can either be same-sex or mixed (co-ed rooms) with both men and women.  The majority of hostels are for out of town travelers and are a great way to meet other like-minded people from around the world.  Most hostels have shared common spaces where you can meet and socialize with other travelers.  Hostels also offer certain amenities that hotels don’t typically have like lockers, internet access, access to a kitchen and lots of local travel info.

Check out this video from HI-USA that does a great job of  showing you what you could expect at our hostels.
